Northshore, edged with parks, shops, retail, and housing is an area known for its scenic and whimsical qualities. The Northshore design is based on the aerial view of Coolidge Park, home to the carousel horse depicted in the district’s icon, and uses the circular elements of the park’s landscape to create a pattern.

Riverfront, anchored by the Tennessee Aquarium, is a bustling center of activity located on the edge of the Tennessee River. The Riverfront design is based on the energetic and aquatic-inspired vibe that surrounds the area as well as the district’s icon, a fish.

Bluff View is known as Chattanooga’s art district and is home to spectacular museums, galleries, and public art. The Bluff View design is based on the aerial view of Buff View’s sculpture garden, which itself is shaped similarly to a painter’s palette, the district’s icon.

MLK is known as an area rich in cultural history and seeped in the influence of jazz and blues music. The MLK design is based on a blues song titled "No One Knows You When You're Down and Out” that was sung and popularized by Bessie Smith in 1929.
